It’s been a busy and unforgettable travel season here at Throttle Travel and I’m so excited to share the highlights with you!
Since my last blog in April, I’ve packed my passport (and coffee cup) and hit the road for back-to-back conferences in Las Vegas, soaked up island vibes in Jamaica at Sandals Royal Caribbean, and led an incredible Collette group trip to Iceland with a fabulous group of women. Each experience reminded me why I love this job and why travel truly transforms us.

Vegas: Two Conferences, Endless ConnectionsVegas looked a little different for me in November — not the typical weekend getaway, but two back-to-back travel industry conferences filled with long days of learning, connecting, and growing with other travel pros. I walked away with fresh insights, new tools, and even more enthusiasm for what’s ahead in 2026 travel trends.

There’s nothing like being surrounded by passionate people who get travel — it reignited my spark and reminded me how important it is to keep learning and innovating for you, my travel community.

One Love: Jamaica at SandalsAfter Vegas, it was time to trade conference rooms for white-sand beaches! Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica delivered sunsets, sea breezes, and unforgettable experiences. I had the joy of celebrating travel with new friends and even helping a fabulous family secure their next adventure in February 2026 — talk about full circle! 
Whether it was sipping cocktails oceanside or sharing laughs at sunset, Jamaica reminded me why all-inclusive escapes are such a beloved option: total relaxation meets effortless fun.

Iceland with Collette: Glaciers, Hot Springs & Girl PowerThe adventure didn’t stop there our next stop: Iceland! 🇮🇸 I had the incredible privilege of traveling with an amazing group of women on a Collette guided tour, exploring cascading waterfalls, dramatic volcano landscapes, and cozy towns dusted with snow. 

From Vík’s black sand beaches to geothermal hot springs and glimpses of the Northern Lights, Iceland was as magical as the photos and stories suggest. The camaraderie, the laughter, the shared awe at Mother Nature’s wonders — it all made for a trip I’ll never forget.

I came home with a full heart (and a full camera roll) — and honestly, I already knew I’d be back.
Fast forward a month... and here we go again! Only this time, it’s not work — it’s all about fun. I'm heading back to Europe with my husband and two good friends, Eli and Joe, for a trip that’s a little slower, a little sweeter, and packed with memories in the making.
We’re kicking things off with three nights in Munich, Germany — soaking in the history, the beer gardens, and those giant pretzels you can only find in Bavaria. Then, it’s off to Budapest to board a seven-night Danube River cruise with Riviera River Cruises.
If you’ve ever thought about planning a Europe trip but weren't sure where to start, a river cruise is such a game-changer. Unpack once, see a bunch of amazing places, and let Europe come to you — it’s travel made easy (and honestly, a little luxurious too!).

March 5th marked the beginning of an exhilarating solo journey through some of Europe's most enchanting cities. Touching down in Munich, I immediately connected to a flight bound for Prague, setting the stage for an immersive experience rich in history, culture, and personal discovery.
Discovering Prague's Hidden Depths
Prague, often dubbed the "City of a Hundred Spires," welcomed me with its medieval charm and vibrant atmosphere. Over the past few days, I've delved deep into its multifaceted character:​
  • Underground Tour: Beneath the bustling streets lies a labyrinth of 12th-century passages. This tour unveiled Prague's hidden layers, shedding light on its architectural evolution and the lives of its past inhabitants. ​
  • Ghost Tour: As dusk settled, I embarked on a journey through the city's shadowed alleys, uncovering tales of restless spirits and age-old legends that haunt the historic quarters. ​
  • Astronomical Clock Tower: Ascending this iconic structure offered panoramic views of Prague's skyline. The intricate mechanics of the clock, combined with the rich history of the Old Town Hall, provided a profound appreciation of medieval craftsmanship. ​
Culinary and Cultural Connections
A memorable evening unfolded with a dinner alongside representatives from Europe Express and fellow travel agency owners. This gathering not only fostered professional relationships but also deepened my understanding of curated European travel experiences.​
Today, our group ventured to the majestic Prague Castle, exploring its hidden entrances, lush gardens, and breathtaking views—a testament to the city's regal past. The day culminated in a food tour through the Old Town, where we indulged in traditional Czech dishes paired with the country's renowned beers, offering a genuine taste of local culture. ​
Reflections on Solo Travel
Embarking on this journey alone has been both empowering and enlightening. Solo travel isn't confined to single individuals; it's an opportunity for anyone whose companions might not share the same wanderlust or destination interests. This experience has reinforced the value of self-discovery, flexibility, and the unique connections one makes along the way.​

There’s something magical about embarking on a cruise—waking up in a new destination each morning, indulging in world-class dining, and soaking in the energy of the open sea. Our recent adventure took us on a Western Caribbean voyage aboard the Norwegian Getaway, sailing from New Orleans to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize, and Roatán Bay. From four lively days in the Big Easy to unforgettable experiences at sea and in port, our journey was filled with highlights, a few unexpected twists, and valuable reminders about the importance of flexibility in travel.
New Orleans: A Pre-Cruise Experience Worth SavoringOne of the best parts of cruising out of New Orleans is the opportunity to explore this vibrant city before setting sail. With four days to immerse ourselves in its rich culture, we indulged in local food and wandered the lively streets of the French Quarter. A trip to New Orleans isn't complete without a visit to the WWII Museum. New Orleans is a destination in itself, and adding a few extra days to explore before cruising made for the perfect pre-trip adventure.
Setting Sail on the Norwegian GetawayThe Norwegian Getaway offered everything we love about cruising: great food, entertainment, and top-notch service. While the weather threw a wrench in our sail away party, the excitement of the journey ahead made up for it.
Dining DelightsOne of the highlights of our time on board was finally getting to dine at Ocean Blue, a seafood restaurant that exceeded expectations with its fresh flavors. We also made a return visit to Teppanyaki, where the interactive dining experience and perfectly grilled dishes never disappoint. From casual bites to specialty dining, Norwegian continues to impress with its variety and quality of culinary experiences.
Exceptional Service from Our Cabin StewardA huge shout-out to Arta, our incredible cabin steward, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The best cruise experiences are always enhanced by great service, and Arta made sure our cabin was spotless, our requests were met with a smile, and that we felt genuinely cared for throughout the voyage.
Exploring the Western Caribbean PortsEach port of call offered its own unique slice of paradise:
  • Cozumel: A haven for snorkeling and beach lovers, Cozumel never fails to impress with its crystal-clear waters and welcoming locals. Whether lounging on the sand or exploring the island, it’s always a favorite stop. We opted for a few beverages ocean side and walking around.
  • Costa Maya: Known for its Mayan ruins and stunning coastline, Costa Maya offers a great mix of history and relaxation. A trip to the ruins or a visit to the beach clubs makes for an unforgettable day.
  • Belize: A hidden gem with lush landscapes and abundant marine life, Belize is ideal for adventure seekers looking to explore caves, reefs, and rainforests. 
  • Roatán Bay: This Honduran paradise remains one of our favorites. We hired a local driver, Clifton, who took us on a personalized island tour, stopping at local vendors and even allowing us to enjoy a relaxing drink on the beach. Connecting with locals always adds a special touch to any travel experience. Here we found metal wall art and jewelry made on the island.
The Reality of Travel: Expect the UnexpectedWhile our journey was filled with amazing experiences, not everything went according to plan. A few members of our travel group fell ill toward the end of the trip, leading us to adjust our flights home to earlier departures. It was a reminder that travel requires flexibility, and that being prepared for last-minute changes can make all the difference.
Despite this hiccup, we still walked away with incredible memories. Vacations don’t always unfold exactly as planned, but the ability to adapt and embrace the experience is what makes travel so rewarding.
Final Thoughts: The Joy of Cruising and Embracing AdventureSailing the Western Caribbean on the Norwegian Getaway was yet another reminder of why we love cruising. From the rich culture of New Orleans to the breathtaking beauty of each port, and the incredible hospitality on board, this trip was one for the books. Even with a few unexpected challenges, the joy of travel, the excitement of discovery, and the memories made along the way far outweighed the setbacks.
