Cheers to a fresh start and a new year! As I write this I will wake up tomorrow and it will be National Plan For Vacation Day. Think back, pre pandemic, to all those vacation days we sacrificed or lost. Not trying to date myself, but back in the day we didn't take vacations. We were too busy being, what we thought was, a loyal employee. We had to wait a year, sometimes more, just to get one week of vacation. And, when we did take vacations we returned to double time to get caught up. Wow, how times have changed. We no longer give up our vacation days. In fact, just the opposite, many employees expect a generous vacation benefit and use it. As we exit the month of January, on a cold and white note, how will you use your vacation time? Not sure, or you already have a destination in mind, let us work with you, and leave the details to us!

Do you ever find yourself wondering where the time goes? We've been wondering that for a couple of months now. We've had amazing journeys this summer and fall, big goals (some reached...others just an arm length away), and a long "to do" list. If you're just visiting us here you'll notice a new tab for Cities Edge Salon & Spa. Yes, we've expanded and the salon's website landed here temporarily, just until we've located a permanent home. So, if your google search for either Cities Edge Salon & Spa or Throttle Travel LLC brought you here...you've in the right place. We apologize for any confusion, surely has confused Google and other search engines. They're just not as smart as us humans :).
It's not that crazy, that we provide travel and beauty services, is it? There is a direct connection between the two. In the midwest we're eager for spring, summer and fall to enjoy our state, when the weather is nice. During this time we're pampering our feet with pedicures, hands with mani's and skin by achieving our base tans. During the winter time, were planning and dreaming of the Caribbean. We not only offer the travel planning but we have the perfect way to prepare for this vacation; Beautifying our nails and working on our base tan. Travel and the beauty industry is closely related, resulting in a perfect marriage of two companies. Come see us for your travel plans and then again to prepare you for your destination. As the year winds down and looking back at 2022, we come along way, have our journey is far from over. We appreciate everyone who has supported both Throttle Travel LLC and now Cities Edge Salon & Spa. We are locally owned, right here in Muskego. We are a young business with many talents and strengths. We are kind, giving, always aim to provide the best customer service. Whether we're curating a vacation, wedding or honeymoon; prepping you for an adventure with colorful nails, no line tans and updated hair services, we aim to bring happiness and joy! We wish you a very Merry Christmas! Cheers to 2023, beautiful hair & nails, tans and warm/sunny destinations this winter season. "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page." Quote from Saint Augustine. How many pages will you have read and how long will you wait till you start to read? If we've learned anything over the past couple of years, it's life can be short and tomorrow may never come. What will your page read? Not sure where you want to go, but know you want to travel, give me a call for a free consultation.

Not only have I had opportunities to travel, but I've been very busy working on taking my business to the next level. Throttle Travel is expanding and will soon include tanning services in Muskego, WI. Very excited to announce the purchase of Beach Bum, Muskego, WI location. The new name will be TNT (Tan n' Travel). Discover amazing places in your own backyard. Photos are from a recent motorcycle trip discovering waterfalls in Wisconsin and Michigan. I enjoy, for the most part, all seasons in Wisconsin. Our winters can be brutal and as biker there is a deeper appreciation for the summer! While I love to travel and explore outside of Wisconsin, summer is my time to discover my own state. I recently participated in a group ride (through my local H.O.G. chapter) exploring parts of the Great Mississippi River Road and State parks. I belong to the Rock River H.O.G. Chapter #3276. We are a very active group and love to ride, discovering and sometimes rediscovering our own backyard. Our committee, "Rock Wisconsin", is a group of amazing volunteers, curate rides and work through all the details. These rides can be a day ride, one or more overnighters. What's truly awesome, I don't have to work, I let others do the work and I am free to just be a traveler...enjoying the road and the camaraderie. On this four day trip we stayed in three different cities, stopped at numerous state parks and rode about 1,000 miles. Seems like it's been a lifetime since my last post and it has. My last blog was in January and my how things have changed in six months. If you haven't noticed the travel industry is experiencing a boom. Now, more than ever, it's important to be very knowledgeable or work with a travel advisor. Not only are travel advisories changing by destination on a daily basis, but also the guidelines surrounding COVID vaccinations and testing requirements are very fluid.
As we open, and welcome travelers, many places are starting anew. Two years ago your favorite resort/hotel was a 5-star and with the many challenges, today they struggle to be considered a 3-star, and vice versa. No one/place is exempt from having to deal with post COVID reopening challenges. Here in the states, staffing is at a major shortfall. So, when you're at your favorite pub or restaurant, remember to be kind. More than likely the establishment is short staffed. This is true no matter where you go, gas stations, grocery stores, airports, hotels, etc. I had an opportunity to travel to Mexico, for a second time, since the pandemic started. The last trip was in April. My stay included nine site inspections with overnight stays at Catalonia Tulum and Catalonia Costa Mujeres. Tulum is such a great destination with plenty to do. Here you can visit the ruins, swim with the sea turtles or experience the Cenotes. While a little further from the airport it offers something for everyone. The second part of my stay was at the Catalonia Costa Mujeres. Myself and fellow travel advisors rented a boat and headed out to the island of Isla Mujeres, where the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea meet. A few of us spent some time in the water snorkeling, later we dropped the anchor close enough to reach the island and enjoyed beautiful white sand beach and clear waters. Tip - if you suffer from motion sickness, mild or severe, make sure you take dramamine prior and while on the boat. This is especially true if you are going to snorkel. The waves will intensify the feeling of motion sickness when you put your head in the water! I have a group trip scheduled for Tulum area in March 2022. Come join me! For $3,500, air including, you can indulge in an all-inclusive for 11 days! Prices are subject to change until deposited and space won't last. Were already seeing limited availability for next spring due to pent up demand for travel. Hope everyone had a VERY Merry Christmas. Happy New Year! Samhain-End of Harvest Season Celebration (Pronounced "sow-win") Did you know? Halloween started more than 2,000 years ago by the pre-Christian Celtic. It was a celebration of the end of the harvest season and also believe to be a time the spiritual world crossed over and communicated with the living.
