Hi, I’m Dawn Makowski, founder of Throttle Travel. My own love of adventure began on the open road. Riding motorcycles gave me a sense of freedom, connection, and discovery that I’d never felt before — and it sparked something deeper: a passion for exploring new places and sharing those experiences with others. As the miles rolled on, so did the dream of helping more people find that same joy. That’s why I’ve invested in professional training with The Travel Institute (Certified Travel Associate), completed ongoing supplier certifications, and dedicated myself to hands-on learning through conferences and familiarization trips. When I recommend a destination or a resort, it’s because I’ve walked those cobblestone streets, tasted the food, or sailed those waters myself — not just because I saw it in a brochure.
But Throttle Travel is more than certifications. It’s personal. I know what it feels like to juggle work, family, and community commitments while longing for time away to reconnect, celebrate, or simply breathe. That’s why I plan each trip with care, as if it were my own — so you can focus on the laughter, the sunsets, and the people by your side, while I take care of the details.
